The classical division \u2013 here scientific research of causal connections, there the artistic interest in natural forms \u2013 has long since ceased to apply. Mathematics picks up Goethe\u2019s motif of organic form and formation, biology deals with developmental laws, physics describes the sudden transition from one configuration to the next. The lecture series is dedicated to the expansion, problematisation and rejection of \u201cform thinking\u201d in the 20th and 21st centuries.
